SUMMARY:Securing the Scaffold: K-12 & Academic Libraries Partnering for Progress in Media Literacy
DESCRIPTION:This session will explore how partnerships between academic librarians and K–12 educators can build a scaffold for media and AI literacy between the earliest grades through university. Centered around a collaborative enterprise between Alabama K-12 media specialists and two librarians at the University of Alabama at Birmingham\,  we will discuss how  to get started\, encourage buy-in\, and translate standards and outcomes  across subjects and grade levels. \nEducators will walk away with:\n– Practical models for K–12 and academic library collaboration\n– Examples of activities and lessons for workshops \nThis session is intended for teachers\, media specialists\, and academic librarians at both the K-12 and University levels.
