Amaris Yang, Youth Council Member

Amaris Yang is a High School Junior from Los Angeles, CA and a passionate advocate for media literacy, civic engagement, and social justice. She has created social media campaigns to empower Gen Z, and also worked on voter turnout projects such as canvassing and phone banking. She is also a student journalist who loves writing about all things youth culture- social media, fashion trends, food reviews, and more! Passionate about teaching media literacy skills online, she creates TikTok videos to fact check misinformation as a Media Wise teen fact-checker. In her community, Amaris loves to volunteer and currently serves as president of her school’s Key Club. In her free time, she is a boba and matcha connoisseur, who loves trying new cafes. She also loves meeting new people, being spontaneous, sharing stories, laughs, and reading! She is so honored and excited to be working with NAMLE.
