Anxhelika (on-juh-lee-ka) is a proud Albanian immigrant and junior at the University of Rhode Island. She studies Journalism and Psychology, with minors in Justice, Law, and Society and Leadership Studies.
In addition to media literacy education, she is passionate about youth digital safety and mental well-being. As a Washington Media Fellow, she has taken initiatives to connect and inform her communities. Notably, this year, she earned a LookUp.Live mental health storytelling grant, where she produced a four-part video series aimed at helping teenagers who have experienced cyberbullying navigate using social media again. She is also a storyteller and teen advisor for #HalfTheStory and a Teach For America Ignite literacy tutor. At school, she is a peer health educator, a Digital Wellness Research & Media Coordinator intern, a URI 101 mentor, and an honors program ambassador.
Some of her other interests include spending time with family and friends, working out, writing poetry, traveling, and learning languages (currently learning her fourth!).
