Board Member: Jena Wuu

Jena Wuu is a seasoned public affairs leader with 15 years of global experience in the consumer technology sector, specializing in integrity, trust and safety, and equity. In 2019, Jena founded Meta’s global information ecosystem program, a groundbreaking initiative that increases access to vetted information and enhances people’s online resilience through media literacy education. Her work with Meta has focused on public health, elections, crisis, and conflict across all regions, with a particular emphasis on supporting underserved and vulnerable populations.

Prior to her tenure at Meta, Jena established Uber’s business in Europe. She subsequently led Uber’s global public policy function on safety and consumer protection, where she shaped modern rideshare legislation and built community coalitions to address critical issues such as gender-based violence, child safety, and fair chance hiring.

As a technologist, Jena’s dedication to media literacy is driven by her profound understanding of today’s rapidly evolving media landscape. She advocates for media literacy as an essential life skill for both creators and consumers of media, necessary for fostering a resilient and thriving society. In addition, Jena firmly believes that meaningful cross-sector collaboration is essential to addressing the complex challenges we face today and ensuring a sustainable and equitable future for all.
