Devon Tutak, Director of Education

Devon Elyse Tutak joined the National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) as the Director of Education in 2026. With over two decades of experience guiding large-scale education initiatives, Devon specializes in co-designing and evaluating media-rich learning resources, as well as building high-impact partnerships between public and private institutions, to support youth, families, and educators. 

Prior to joining NAMLE, Devon spent over 14 years at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, most recently serving as the Senior Director of Ready To Learn. In this role, she led community engagement strategy for PBS stations and their local partners, expanded the use of effective educational media practices by teachers, and leveraged data-driven storytelling to demonstrate program impact. Her background also includes roles in marketing with PBS KIDS and advocacy with America’s Public Television Stations. 

Devon regularly presents on media and education topics at forums such as the American Library Association Annual Conference and the Connected Learning Summit, and has served on the SXSWedu Programming Committee since 2024. She has contributed to several thought-leadership publications, including the Journal of Children and Media and Getting Ready to Learn Creating Effective, Educational Children’s Media, 1st Edition.

Devon holds a B.A. in Electronic Media from The George Washington University and an Ed.M. in Technology In Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She also earned certificates in Nonprofit Management and Instructional Design from Georgetown University. 

Originally from New Jersey, Devon now lives in Alexandria, VA, with her partner, Scott, and their blended family of four children (plus one leopard gecko). Beyond her professional work, she enjoys attending live concerts and theatre, collecting National Parks Passport stamps, and making travel plans.
