[Rescheduled] Securing the Scaffold: K-12 & Academic Libraries Partnering for Progress in Media Literacy
July 15 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT
This session will explore how partnerships between academic librarians and K–12 educators can build a scaffold for media and AI literacy between the earliest grades through university. Centered around a collaborative enterprise between Alabama K-12 media specialists and two librarians at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, we will discuss how to get started, encourage buy-in, and translate standards and outcomes across subjects and grade levels.
Educators will walk away with:
– Practical models for K–12 and academic library collaboration
– Examples of activities and lessons for workshops
This session is intended for teachers, media specialists, and academic librarians at both the K-12 and University levels.
