Using Media Literacy to Practice Metacognition
In any setting, learners need the ability to monitor their thoughts, evaluate their thinking, reflect on their beliefs, and adjust their understanding. In recognition of Safer Internet Day, this webinar will unpack how the practices of media literacy can support these metacognition skills, ultimately empowering learners to make informed choices online and beyond. By centering these skills, educators can support students in prioritizing their learning across subjects while building habits that promote digital wellbeing and safer engagement with media. Register now!
Educators will walk away with:
– Key practices of media literacy
– Examples of student metacognition practices at various levels
– Resources for further exploration for educators and students
Please note: This event is geared toward educators grades 7-12.
