Genesis Escobar is a senior at the University of Connecticut, majoring in Communication with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. Her interest in media literacy grew through her Communication studies and her experience as someone who loves regularly engaging with a wide range of media. Genesis is passionate about advocating for greater media literacy and empowering others to become more thoughtful, informed, and critical consumers of the media they encounter every day. She also enjoys frequently volunteering in her community. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in public relations.
Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Genesis enjoys discovering coffee shops, reading new books, and finding fun pieces while thrifting.
