Maggie LeBeau is from Lombard, Illinois and is a freshman at the University of Missouri double majoring in journalism and history and minoring in political science. She became passionate about media literacy when she saw an increase in political, health, and environmental misinformation in 2020. Maggie was a 2024 PBS News Student Reporting Labs Fellow where her work was published on PBS NewsHour and Teen Vogue. She was also a Podcast Fellow with the Democracy Group. In high school she was a Teen Fact Checker for Media Wise where she created educational videos on media literacy and internet navigation. She is excited to meet other students and help the media literacy cause. After graduation Maggie wants to be a political journalist.
