Member Spotlight: Eashan Kosaraju

Host @ All Things AI Podcast, Senior @ Solon High School, Member @ NAMLE YAC

What do you do?

I run the All Things AI Podcast, where I interview AI experts to translate technological developments into accessible dialogue, and Empower With AI, an initiative that expands AI literacy in K-12 education and builds public-benefit technology. I was also a student researcher at Harvard Medical School this past summer as part of the Research Science Institute (RSI). In my free time, I love to spend time with friends & family and watch football.

Tell us about your latest work or project in media literacy.

My latest work as part of NAMLE’s Youth Advisory Council is an interview on the importance of AI literacy and it’s connection to media literacy with Christian Pinedo, a VP from the AI Education project (aiEDU) — releasing soon. Through this interview, I hope to help Gen Z and Gen Alpha understand why staying media and AI literate is crucial as technology accelerates the spread of information, some of which isn’t representative of the truth.

Why is media literacy important to you?

Media literacy is important to me because it enables critical thought and discussions in an age when mass media and social media are hotspots for mis- and disinformation. I see media literacy as a skill that brings truth to the front.

What are you most excited about in the media literacy field?

I’m most excited to see how we can continue to teach media literacy practices as content created with generative AI floods all sources of media.

Why did you become a NAMLE member, what benefits do you see to membership, and how will it support your work?

I became a NAMLE member to join a community that is united in its mission of spreading media literacy to everyone.
