Sadie Matt is a sophomore in New York at the North Salem Middle School High School. Her interest in media literacy began with an in-depth examination of navigating the media and identifying AI in her Freshman Seminar class. Sadie co-founded the Student AI Consultory at her school, which gives students input and opinions on the usage of AI in education. Sadie and her team presented to the North Salem Board of Education and showcased their findings. During the Future of Education Collective, at BOCES NY, Sadie represented a student stakeholder voice for district leaders from surrounding counties. Sadie believes that media literacy is overlooked, misunderstood, and needs to be a more comprehensive part of our education, and is working towards that goal.
