Tyler Nolt, Social Media Intern

Tyler is a Penn State undergrad majoring in Telecommunications and Media Industries, as well as Education and Public Policy. His interest lies heavily in educational media, and the potential it has to benefit society. In addition to his work at NAMLE, Tyler is also interning with Newsreel–an app that helps college students develop better news consumption habits through attention grabbing and gamified infrastructure.

A large focus of Tyler’s is the impact his work will have. Throughout high school he advocated for mental health legislation in his home state of PA. In his first year of college he worked for The Daily Collegian, reporting on protests and school politics. And now he’s a student worker at the Relationship Violence, Intervention, Outreach, and Community Education (R-VOICE) Center, in addition to his work within the field of media literacy.

In the near future, Tyler hopes to begin researching topics relating to educational media. For now, he’s continuing to learn as much as he can, especially from the Center for Humane Technology.
